Creative Recovery: After Bushfire

Strumming and Strolling

Activating the town

Fabrik partnered with Adelaide Guitar Festival during the 2021 Adelaide Fringe to present Strum and Stroll as part of the Guitar Festival’s “On the Road” program, and Adelaide Hills Council’s “Festival of the Hills”.

The event was presented in nine venues throughout Lobethal’s Main Street, including cafes, pubs, the local hall and the Lutheran Church.

The event was an opportunity to pick up the connections made with local traders during the 2020 Re:Gathered market and explore the possibilities of bringing live music, and a new audience, into the cafes and pubs.

Support was given to all venues to ensure compliance with COVID-19 restrictions was maintained, and every venue was fully booked throughout the day’s program. The event closed with a free concert on Fabrik’s Mill Square.

1,500 people attended the event across the day, with more than half of the visitors coming from outside of the Hills area.
