Throughout 2020 and 2021 Fabrik has been partnering with artists to offer creative activities to our bushfire affected community.
These workshops have offered opportunities to make in a safe and supportive space. Some have been one-off workshops, other have had a longer life.
Some gatherings have come directly from community requests, including regular quilting gatherings, a craft lending library and workshops. Currently, Fabrik’s ongoing community maker gatherings include the Yarning Circle (knitting and crocheting for others in need) and the Craft + Connect group, where any creative works in progress is welcomed and participants can craft with company.
As Fabrik looks towards the future, these gatherings will continue until they are no longer needed.
