The exhibition, All things are connected, curated by artist Kay Lawrence is part of our opening celebration, beginning this weekend!With this exhibition Lawrence celebrates connection, a key characteristic of textiles practice and Ngarrindjeri philosophy, and a concept at the heart of Fabrik’s ethos as a community driven culture and textiles space. The artists are Cheryl Hutchens, Kay Lawrence, Sara Lindsay, Deborah Prior, Sonya Rankine, Ellen Trevorrow, Ema Shin, Linda Marie Walker, and Sera Waters.👀 Open from 20 September – 27 October. The installation of this new walkway, (or skybridge) as we've heard it been called, is an exciting and significant new addition at Fabrik.It connects the upper story of the Blanket Building with the sunny and open Reading Room upstairs in our administration building.This means, that with the new lift installed in the Blanket Building, for the first time the upper levels of both these buildings will be accessible to all. ❤

Envelopes containing hand-stitched self-portraits for present – a project by India Flint are coming to us from near and far. Submissions from Canada, England, USA, Scotland, and here in Australia are stacking up.
These stitched portraits of members of the textile community world-wide will be installed en masse at Fabrik's re-opening next year.
