Welcome Janys Davies, our newest Maker in our Studios at Fabrik 🤩
Janys is a weaver, using a variety of looms to weave wearable art using natural fibres, including silk, wool, alpaca and cotton. All of Jany's fibres are sourced locally where possible.Our Makers are in their studios Wednesday to Sunday 11am -4 pm.

Over 70 creatives levelled up their skills last year, and now it's your turn!ARTSELERATE SA is a unique program designed for creative practitioners and arts professionals who are looking for a fast and practical approach to business and career development. And this year there's TWO ways to take part:✨ IN PERSON: Join a cohort of 25 creatives in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at FABRIK - Dates are: 2nd-3rd May + 30th-31st May. The in-person version combines tutorials, guest speakers, practical activities, and resource sharing with creative collaboration, mentoring, and peer support.💻 ONLINE: Can't make it in person? No worries! The online program kicks off on 1st May, and you have until 30th June to complete it at your own pace. Perfect for creatives anywhere in SA!Don't miss out on this final opportunity! Spot the Knitted Item Competition 👉👀🧶Two of the items in the Hooked Exhibition were not crochet but knitted!
There were many keen crochet enthusiasts who tried to spot these items.Congratulations to Liz and Barbara whose correct entries (Brown Tea Cosy and the Dolly Varden) were drawn out of the hat (crocheted of course). They both won a hand crocheted curler hat (excellent for putting out the rubbish on a cold night)!Thank you Kristin Phillips and Lianne Gould (pictured modelling the curler hats above). 11 April – 25 May 2025Friday 11 April: Artist Talk 5pm, Opening 6pmFrom 1869 – 1992, Lobethal’s Onkaparinga Woollen Mills, were synonymous with the highest quality Australian blankets and materials. Artist Flossie Peitsch sketched the skilled workers at their beloved machines, soon to be parted. Also a weaver, Peitsch used the very fibres produced by the Mill to weave 54 tapestries. For the first time, these two significant bodies of art are exhibited together.Part of the South Australia’s History Festival 2025 @historyfestival.
