Volunteering

Our team of volunteers are vital to our operations at Fabrik. Volunteers help us to warmly welcome our visitors and provide a high-quality experience, they share information about exhibitions, tell stories about our spaces, host creative groups, and help guests explore our beautiful heritage listed site.

The Fabrik volunteering experience provides the opportunity to take part in enriching events, diverse training and workshops, and to be part of our creative community.

We fully recognise that one size volunteer schedule doesn’t fit all people. We offer flexible shifts, taking into account that family, study and caravanning adventures are a priority and that volunteering at FABRIK can fit in around the good life.

Some of our volunteers love the structure of coming on a set day each week or fortnight, others check their diary and schedule a few dates a month that works for them. Some come for a full day, for others, a half day works best. We welcome applications for Centrelink Volunteers too. We are happy to have a chat about what the best fit volunteering experience might be for you.

We’re currently seeking volunteer expressions of interest for the following role:

Gallery Hosts – offering a warm welcome and experience for visitors to FABRIK.
Perfect for those who love the arts, love talking to people, and are supporters for diverse walks of life.

For more information and to register your interest in this volunteer role, please click here to visit the Adelaide Hills Council Volunteer portal and click on the blue ‘Fill in an application’ button.

For any question or assistance, please contact FABRIK’s Volunteer Coordinator, René Strohmayer during business hours Tuesday – Friday on 0429 416 293 or rstrohmayer@ahc.sa.gov.au. We aim to offer our volunteers and visitors a best-practice experience at Fabrik. Our volunteer induction process is in line with National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and includes online induction modules, undertaking a National Criminal History check, as well as acknowledging and accepting Codes of Conduct for Volunteer, for Child Safe Environments, Technology and Confidentiality and Work Health and Safety.

This process may take a few weeks to complete. Our friendly volunteer coordinators will guide you through the process step by step.  Please note, it may be that not all applications can be accepted.

Before commencing, a site induction at Fabrik and face-to-face informal training for each role will occur. New volunteers will have the opportunity to shadow others until confident in the role.

We look forward to growing a team of wonderful volunteers that will be part of the Fabrik story!
