Mapping the Memories is a workshop for documenting the beauty of cherished memories and finding a balance between looking back + moving on.
This workshop will provide opportunities to reflect on your feelings of home through prompted poetry and the creation of your own bespoke artist book – a keeping place of mapped memories.
Our creative facilitators for this session are experienced writer and poet Amelia Walker and highly regarded visual artist James Parker. Participants will take part in prompted creative writing tasks as well as art making, and book binding activities designed to shine a light on beautiful moments feared lost. This workshop will provide space for participants to honour and pay homage to precious memories, cherished lost objects or landscape changed post bushfires.
In addition, Kate McEwen, qualified counsellor, and Wellbeing facilitator will return to our Creative Recovery program for this session to provide a safe emotional framework for members of the group, as personal inner landscapes are explored. Kate will provide an introduction, be present throughout the session to talk one-on-one if required, as well as provide a reflection for the group to close the session.
