IGNITIONSA

IGNITION SA is a new program of learning opportunities, mentoring, resources, and online experiences designed to enhance the professional development and wellbeing of South Australia’s creative professionals.

Produced by Creative Plus Business, IGNITION SA brings to South Australia four initiatives to help creative businesses and arts professionals come together to learn, access professional development opportunities, gain mentorship and guidance, and build new creative and professional networks.

IGNITION SA is an initiative of the Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business and the South Australian Small Business Strategy 2023 – 2030.

PROGRAM DATES:
Marketing Basics for Creatives: Friday 15 May, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Wellbeing Basics for Creatives: Saturday 16 May, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Marketing Basics for Screen Creatives
Friday 15 May 9:30am-4:30pm

Marketing is one of the most challenging and least understood aspects of running a creative business, but there is a simple solution – focus on strategy, not sales. This whole-day workshop introduces a practical, simple six-step marketing approach specifically designed by creatives to remove the pain of promotion. We’ll also take a deep dive into digital marketing and old-school tactics, providing you with the templates, tools, and resources you need to put what you learn into practice immediately.

Wellbeing Basics for Screen Creatives
Saturday 16 May 9:30am-4:30pm

We all know creative work can be both rewarding and taxing. Making money from our passion is what we’re all working toward, but burnout is a reality. This IGNITION SA workshop day takes a deep dive into how artists and creatives can maintain relative balance between flourishing and falling, while safeguarding our inspiration. Learn how to identify and overcome roadblocks like imposter syndrome, the principles of care-based practice, and walk away with practical tools to integrate what you learn seamlessly into your daily professional life.

PROGRAM INITIATIVES

IGNITION EVENTS

Throughout the year a series of IGNITION SA Events will pop up in Adelaide City, Port Adelaide and Adelaide Hills. Each event is a full day workshop that focuses on one the four basics of creative business: small business skills, financial literacy, marketing
strategy, and wellbeing. They’re the perfect blend of networking and learning opportunity, designed for creative entrepreneurs.

IGNITION MENTORS

A creative industries specialist advisor can make the world of difference to any arts business. The IGNITION Mentors are fellow
South Australian creatives with a wealth of professional experience and training, who will provide tailored and confidential
advice, help with strategic planning, resource recommendations and more to up to 55 participants across the program.

IGNITION TOOLKIT

Every creative needs a resource kit to help them start, run, or grow their business. The IGNITION Toolkit is an on-demand online resource designed to help build strong foundations for creative businesses. It includes free access to video tutorials, resources, templates, tools and more to help arts professionals enhance their creative business skills, financial literacy, marketing ability and wellbeing management – no matter where they live and work.

IGNITION LINKEDIN
A private IGNITION SA LinkedIn group is the ideal way to stay connected with other IGNITION participants. The group will help South Australia creative business and arts professionals to share news, amplify opportunities and resources, exchange ideas,
discuss trends, and more, and will stay active long after the program’s completing in 2027.
