Learn weaving techniques in this relaxed Sunday afternoon session.

Perfect for those wanting to dip a toe into the world of weaving, join textile artist Megan Walsh-Cheek of The Meandering Studio to create your own mini weaving in a ready to hang frame. This relaxed group lesson includes all materials, as we explore texture and shape to create your very own bespoke artwork…

Megan Walsh-Cheek is a self-taught textile artist whose felt artworks, vessels and weavings celebrate raw materials and a highly textural aesthetic. Based in her home studio in the Adelaide Hills, Megan’s work is driven by the beautiful nuances of colour and texture found in natural materials, and features a delicate balance of wool, leather, flax, linen and silk. She champions the use of both locally sourced and preloved materials, and encourages her weaving students to look at everyday materials in playful new ways.

This workshop will take place in Building 21 (the former market building) at Fabrik, amidst the loveliness of India Flint’s Quiet Conversations exhibition. Please look out for directional signage on the day.

Afternoon tea refreshments will be provided.
