Weaving Stories

3 – 25 May 2019

Vic McEwan

After a four week residency in Lobethal, Vic McEwan from the Cad Factory created a performative installation sharing the stories of the people who made the famous Onkaparinga blankets. Dramatic, large-scale projections, performances and installations presented the experiences of former workers and celebrated the 150thanniversary of the Mill’s establishment.

The event, held every Friday and Saturday night during May included performances by local writer Belinda Broughton and singer songwriter Adrienne Lovelock. Dance lessons were offered by the Queen of Onkaparinga Ball (1968) Sandy Hughes, John Hughes and other former Mill workers.
