Connect and create with nature in this curated whole day experience.

Take time out for yourself by nourishing your body with yoga, connecting with nature through a guided mindfulness session and expressing your inner creativity with drawing and botanical painting.

Hosted by Fabrik Arts + Heritage, as part of the Adelaide Hills Wellness Wander event, this whole-day experience will take place across three iconic locations in Lobethal.

Start your day at Fabrik in the former Woollen Mill for a session of Drawing Yoga facilitated by Tammy Pahl of Blooming Hearts Yoga. Using large sheets of paper and pastels, each movement is an opportunity for mark-making in this good for the body and soul session.

Our second location is the home of soul food. Emma & Ivy‘s café are set to nourish us for our lunch break with delicious and nutritious lunch options. (After registration, an email will be sent to each registrant with nourishing lunch options to choose from).

Our third location is Bushland Park. Cherished by our community, Bushland Park is one of the largest reserves of bushland in the Onkaparinga Valley. Here we’ll engage in two wellness activities.

Firstly, we’ll connect with the regenerating natural environment in a Naturally Mindful session with Wellbeing facilitator Kate McEwen from Apply Within for Wellbeing. This session will include a mindfulness introduction, nature walk and a shared mindful reflection. To follow, and to take full advantage of our engaged and relaxed state, we’ll join artist Donna Gordge of Stitch Paint Burn studio for a workshop of Botanically Inspired Watercolour Painting. No artistic experience is necessary for this expressive, entry level session.

This big and beautifully curated day includes activities that are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to the experienced. This includes the yoga, mindfulness and watercolour painting.

Fabrik is located at 1 Lobethal Road, Lobethal. Please gather here to start our day. The Drawing Yoga will take place in the Blanket Room Gallery space. Please look out for directional signage on the day.

Fabrik staff will be on hand throughout the day to assist with sharing directions between each of the three locations. Participants will need to ensure that they have their own reliable transport to travel between the three Lobethal locations.

After registration, participants will be emailed a detailed itinerary for our whole-day adventure. This will include exact timings and address details for each of the three Lobethal locations.

What to bring: for our morning session, wear yoga suitable attire, keeping in mind that you’ll likely end up covered in pastel dust! For the afternoon, you’ll need to bring along a hat and shoes suitable for walking in nature.

Participants are asked to respect and maintain COVID-safe practices throughout the day, including mask wearing when required and ensuring physical distancing. Please only attend if you are feeling well.

Please note that Bushland Park has a variety of walking paths and undulating terrain. Should you have any queries regarding accessibility or other matters, please feel welcome to contact Fabrik’s Public Program Officer, René Strohmayer via email on rstrohmayer@ahc.sa.gov.au
