Stitch a Wren

When: Saturday 16 November, 10.00am – 4.00pm

Stitch a Wren is part of our Handmade Christmas program at Fabrik.

In this workshop Rosi Gates will show you, step by step how to construct a 3D textile wren in your choice of colours.

Starting with precut fabric pieces you will build (stitch, stuff and wire) your bird’s body.

Your wren’s unique personality will emerge as you add your own fabrics to form wings, markings and tail.

At the end of the workshop you will have a completed or be well on the way to completing your cheeky little bird to keep or gift to a family member or special friend during the festive season.

About the artist: Rosi creates seascapes, landscapes, bird studies and small scale critters and is inspired by the beauty of the world around her.

Rosi loves working in textiles, where she combines fabric, paper and other materials with stitching and other techniques to give character to her unique textile pieces.
