Begin to Spin with Sharon Wollaston

Dates:

10 October 2020
2pm – 4:30pm
$25

Do you have a spinning wheel but don’t know (or remember how) to use it? Perhaps you’ve inherited one from a cherished relative or bought one and just haven’t known quite how to begin? If this sounds familiar, this workshop is for you!

Be guided by our skillful spinning mentor Sharon Wollaston as she introduces you to the processes and nuances of yarn spinning.

In this workshop you will learn to prepare and spin fleece, plus gain an understanding of wheel maintenance. In addition, Sharon can assist you with any troubleshooting or queries that might resolve any issues specific to your spinning wheel.

No experience is necessary for this lovely workshop, just bring along your spinning wheel, all the accessories that go along with it and a towel to put over your lap – spinning can get a bit dirty and greasy.

Fleece, refreshments and expert tuition are all included. (However, if you do already have some fleece of your own please bring it along too).

Class size is limited to 8 participants to allow for personalised tuition as required and to make sure that there is enough room for friendly chatter while we spin.

This workshop will take place in Building 21 (the former market building) at Fabrik, amidst the loveliness of Sera Waters Domestic Arts exhibition. Please look out for directional signage on the day.
