In this performance Kay Lawrence threads buttons brought to her by the community onto handmade silk string.
This performance is designed to bring people together to consider their heart’s desire, symbolised by a string of 1000 buttons. As well as contributing a button, participants are also invited to record their heart’s desire in an artist’s book.
Please think about your heart’s desire and bring a button or two so you can participate in the project.
Your heart’s desire was developed for Heartlines, a site-specific installation and performance project, curated for the 2010 Adelaide Festival of Arts by Mary Knights. It continues still.
