Back by popular demand, come and join Lottie in this really fun block printing workshop.

With 16 years experience in textiles and block printing on fabric, Lottie will share her tips and tricks to get the best result out of your design and print. Lottie has a passion for nurturing the best out of her students and making the sessions full of fun and experimentation.

Beginning with a drawing session participants will come up with a design to carve into a block. The session will include design tips with a focus on how to work with positive and negative spaces in a relief print. Lottie will attend to everyone individually to help them with their design and test print to check the designs.

The second half of the workshop will be filled with printing and experimenting. You will learn how to achieve different effects and learn tricks to get the best results with hand printing on fabric. You will eventually print your final piece on a tote bag that has been hand dyed by Lottie so you have something beautiful to take home.

No artistic experience is necessary in this fun workshop. It is full of experimentation, perfect for someone who is arty and already has experience or someone who just wants a creative outlet and something fun to do with like minded people. All you need to bring is a smile and a willingness to give it a go.

All skill levels are welcome in this workshop, suitable for ages 16 years and over.

Cups of tea and coffee plus simple refreshments will be provided.

This workshop will take place in Fabrik’s Blanket Room, please look out for directional signage on the day.
